Diagnostic Software
Computer based neuropsychological tests are available. You should have appropriate training and registration before using procedures of this kind to make diagnostic statements about brain function. Click here to download a demonstration version of a test.
Stroop Colour-Word Interference Test
This test uses colour-word interference effects, as first described by John R Stroop in 1932, to assess response inhibition or stimulus resistance. This procedure has a known sensitivity and specificity from frontal lobe damage. The version of the test implemented by Ormond Software Enterprises is particularly sensitive to the effects of mild head injuries and other conditions that cause subtle dysfunction of the frontal lobes.
Wisconsin Card Sorting Test
The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test has seen numerous implementations and variations over the past decades and follows in the wake of Weigl’s colour-form sorting test as first described in 1948. Our version provides automated scoring of performance that follows the scoring rules specified by Robert Heaton. In addition, the time to make each move is recorded and graphed. Results can be exported to Microsoft Word or other word-processing software. Tests can be replayed at a later stage to more fully assess a patient’s performance. The software also includes sample results of patient’s suffering from various different kinds of neuropathologies.
